Trainee Solicitor Contracts
- We believe that trainees should work under supervision rather than simply be given cases and told to get on with it.
- On joining the firm you will be introduced to the office administration, accounts, IT and time record system.
- During your training contract you will work closely with your supervising principal's cases. You may be engaged in taking witness statements, sitting behind counsel in court, visiting clients in custody, researching recent authorities and preparing letters, briefs, applications, and other documents. These will however be scrutinized so that you gain fully from the experience we offer.
- You will have regular informal performance review sessions with your principal; and at the end of each seat your performance will be assessed at an appraisal by your principal.
- We encourage feedback and will be open to suggestions on issues ranging from which continuing professional development courses you wish to attend, to general management procedures.
- We also welcome your participation in community and Law Society events.
